Practical answers, plus what users report on review sites
Nosto aims to increase online store sales through personalised product recommendations, search and merchandising. We could use it to show shoppers more relevant products without manually curating every page. It is aimed at e-commerce, not general marketing.
A Capterra reviewer called it a strong app for Shopify stores and easy to set up, but only four Capterra reviews exist, so that is a thin sample. Independent coverage we found focuses on mid-market and enterprise brands. We would say it suits a small team only if the store has enough traffic and revenue to justify the cost.
Nosto does not appear to publish flat prices, and a trade article describes pricing that rises with attributed revenue. Capterra shows a very low starting price and a free version, but we could not confirm what that covers. One reviewer said it becomes quite expensive, including a fee on sales involving Nosto, so we would confirm on the vendor pricing page.
Capterra and articles list product recommendations, personalised search, A/B testing, pop-ups, abandoned cart recovery and segmentation. We could use these to cross-sell and tailor the shopping journey. Advanced merchandising may take time to set up properly.
It helps rather than replaces. It automates product recommendations and reduces manual merchandising, but we would still need someone to set goals, review results and manage the catalogue.
Capterra lists native integrations with Shopify, Adobe Commerce and PrestaShop, and one article mentions Magento, BigCommerce, Shopware, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Klaviyo. A reviewer reported the PrestaShop integration hurt store performance, and another said integrations do not always work. We would test on a staging store first.
We should check how fees scale with sales, the contract length, and whether our platform integration is reliable. One reviewer said technical support has slowed as the company grew. We could not confirm independent results, as the success stories we found came from the vendor.
