Split, now part of Harness as Feature Management and Experimentation (FME), helps teams release features gradually with feature flags and measure their impact with experiments. We could use it to roll out changes safely and test them. It is aimed mainly at engineering teams.
Probably only if we have developers. Harness lists a free plan, and a third-party page says it allows 2 developer seats and 25,000 monthly active users, but that A/B testing is Enterprise only. We could not confirm this on the vendor site, and it is a developer tool rather than a marketing one.
Harness does not publish paid prices, so Enterprise requires a sales quote. A third-party page (Costbench) says the old Split Team and Business tiers were retired after the Harness acquisition. We would confirm on the vendor pricing page and ask about overage charges for traffic.
Harness docs list creating and managing feature flags, targeting rules, environments, access control, running experiments and monitoring releases. A third-party page also mentions progressive rollouts, kill switches and BI integrations. Experiments appear to need the Enterprise plan.
It helps rather than replaces. Developers still need to implement flags and SDKs, and someone must define hypotheses and metrics. The platform handles targeting, rollout and statistics.
A third-party review page mentions data platform integrations including Amplitude, and Harness positions FME within its wider DevOps platform. We could not confirm a full integration list, so we would ask the vendor which analytics and data tools are supported.
We could not retrieve G2 or Capterra ratings, and a third-party page notes the June 2024 acquisition by Harness may change pricing, support and roadmap. We would check which plan includes experimentation, how monthly users are counted, and migration status if we use older Split accounts.
